Bruno Abbud is a freelancer journalist with recent publications in Sumaúma, Ojo Público and InfoAmazonia. He serves as a consultant for the Center for Climate Crime Analysis (CCCA), the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) and the Rockefeller Foundation, and is the author of Noble Traffickers — Stories of the Elite in Crime, a book published in September 2025 by Zahar, an imprint of the Companhia das Letras group. The audiovisual adaptation rights were acquired by the film production company RT Features. In 2025, he was a finalist for the Sigma Awards, one of the most important international awards in data journalism, for the investigative series The Routes of Dirty Gold. He served as a correspondent in Berlin for O Globo and worked at Veja and Folha de S. Paulo and has written for Piauí magazine, O Estado de S. Paulo, Gentlemen’s Quarterly Brasil, Americas Quarterly, and other main media outlets. Bruno was selected to participate in the Global Media Forum, organized by Deutsche Welle, which brings together journalists from 140 countries. He was the first journalist to report on the presence of the Pegasus spyware in Brazil.
