Sinar Alvarado (Valledupar, 1977) has written for The New York Times and El País, and for the magazines Gatopardo, Esquire, SoHo, 5W, Semana, Letras Libres, and El Malpensante, among others. His book "Portrait of a Cannibal" won the Random House Mondadori Investigative Journalism Award. He was a finalist and winner of the Gabo Prize in 2019 and 2024 (collective), and a finalist for the Inter-American Press Association's Excellence in Journalism Award in 2015. His work appears in several anthologies of Latin American chronicles and has been translated into English, French, and Italian.
